NAWADA: One more member of the same family succumbed to the burn injuries sustained in the LPG cylinder blast at Hisua market in Nawada district on October 30, taking the death toll to 4 in the incident.
The fifth member of the family, a six-year-old girl, is struggling for life in an extremely critical condition.
While three of the family, namely
Alok Kumar, his wife
Anuradha and son Mithun Kumar, had died the same night at PMCH, their fourth child,
Pintu Kumar, died Monday night.
According to reports, the blast occurred when attempting to repair a two-year-old spare LPG cylinder at Munshi Tola in the Hisua market. The family of Nandlal have two houses in the market. While Chhath Puja was being performed in one house, the family had moved to the other house in order to prepare 'prasad' on a gas cylinder lying unused for two years.
When attempts to ignite the burner failed, 'experts' were called in to rectify the fault.
During the process, the cylinder exploded and the entire room was engulfed in flames resulting in severe burn injuries to the family members.
